An informal salon where we explore various ways to peel with appeal… From silly to sensual, we’ll incorporate classic burlesque techniques and learn different ways to tease and strip for stage or bedroom performance. Led by Mynx d’Meanor.

What to expect:

• We’ll start with some basic Burlesque Boot Camp calisthenics and drills: posture, walking and classic pinup poses.
• Then we’ll dive into the nitty-gritt: Taking it off! We’ll work on various ways to tease and strip, incorporating timing, musicality and characterization in burlesque performance.
• Choreography: We’ll work on basic choreography for Mynx’s “Take My Love” solo act.

What to wear/bring:

• Wear comfortable, form-fitting clothing: Tank tops, yoga pants, or lingerie you can move in. Wear comfortable heels or go barefoot.
• Optional: Bring additional accessories or outer layer costumes to work with—gloves, an overcoat, business suit, evening gown, Betty Crocker apron… you get the idea.
• There are dressing rooms available in the studio to change out of your street clothes before the salon starts.

NOTE: There will be no nudity in this class. Students should only strip according to their comfort level. Pasties will be available for sale for those who would like to give them a try.

Learn fundamental burlesque moves in Catherine D’Lish’s signature style. In this workshop, Catherine will teach students the basics of how to pose, walk and move like a true showgirl.

Learn Catherine D’Lish’s signature style of sultry, elegant movement. In this workshop, Catherine will work closely with each student to help polish your poses and movements for a more enticing and effective stage presence.

Catherine D’Lish is well-renowned for her sensual approach to working with props. In this workshop, Catherine will teach students a variety of poses and dance moves with chairs– and how to put these together into choreography that you can bring to the stage.

Phase 1: PINK Series (for absolute beginners)

The PINK series is the mainstay of BURLESQUE BOOT CAMP. It’s a fun, action-packed introductory-level class developed specifically for absolute beginners. Drop-ins welcome!

Each class starts with Burlesque Calisthenics (stretching and warmup exercises), then we’ll move on to “drills” to teach proper posture, pinup poses and stylings, showgirl strut, classic burlesque dance moves, and group choreography.

Every week we’ll also play fun, silly games and/or lecture on any number of topics, such as: striptease techniques, developing a character, musicality, making the most out of your costume, working with props, improvisation, and many more!

Open to women of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds, 18 years and older. No prior dance experience necessary!

There is no nudity in any of these classes. However, students are encouraged to wear whatever makes them feel sexy within their comfort level. See UNIFORMS section for more information on what to wear.

What to expect:

• We’ll start with some basic Burlesque Boot Camp calisthenics—stretches and warm-up exercises, basic walking and posing drills.
• Then we’ll dive into the nitty-gritty—taking it off! We’ll work on timing, musicality and characterization while incorporating some basic techniques in burlesque performance.
• After class, we can even move the sexy girly party to cool down with a cocktail at one of the local bars within blocks of the studio. Why not?

• Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and sexy. I recommend pretty lingerie or undergarment sets, stockings and sexy (but non-hurty) heels for the daring. Otherwise, form-fitting clothes like tank tops and yoga pants will do just fine.
